| BACKGROUND: | Linfox Logistics offers customised warehousing and distribution solutions with operations ranging from localised multi-user and shared warehousing to the management of national distribution centres.The business operates facilities that are geared to handle different volumes of product, from small to large goods. These facilities cater for short and long term storage, as well as overflow requirements. |
| SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: | As well as maximising storage capacity, improvements were required with their picking module and a lockable Dangerous Goods Area was needed to accommodate Class 4 Dangerous Goods within the facility. |
| STORAGE REQUIREMENTS: | Linfox gave Storage Ideas a specific brief to maximise their storage capacity after merging two divisions at an existing facility. |

Storage Ideas designed the warehouse layout and doubled the existing capacity with the application of both Selective and Double-Deep Racking configurations.
Storage Ideas also designed a Fire Heat Barrier to suit the Australian Standards for the storage of Class 4 Dangerous Goods and in turn, provided Linfox with a complete solution.

Selective Pallet Racking
This is the most common storage system for palletised goods. Selective Pallet Racking is the simplest system in terms of equipment and the most economical in capital costs.

Double Deep Pallet Racking
Although not a truly selective system, Double Deep Rack offers many companies a cost effective method of bulk storage. Access and stock rotation is compromised compared to Selective Pallet Racking, however cube utilisation is much higher. Specially designed forklifts use a variety of double-deep reach mechanisms to allow easy placement and retrieval of pallets.
